What's New in the 2020 Update

Changes to Web Site Content

Starting from the 2016 Update, the schedule for performing component and system study updates is every other year, while the loss of offsite power and initiating event updates are still done each year. As such, the 2018 and 2020 Updates included the studies for loss of offsite power, initiating event, component, and system studies using data through calendar year 2018 or 2020; the 2019 Update included only the studies for loss of offsite power and initiating event using data through calendary year 2019; and this update (i.e., the 2020 Update) included the studies for loss of offsite power, initiating events component performance, and system studies using data through calendar year 2020.

The parameters used in the SPAR models have been updated using data through calendar year 2020. The 2020 SPAR parameter update included initiating event frequencies, component unreliability, component unavailability, common cause failure alpha factors, and loss of offsite power nonrecovery probabilities. The next update is planned to use data through calendar year 2025 and will be conducted around 2026.
